Cook & Company Utilization Review Services was first approved as a Qualified Utilization Review Agent on October 21, 2004. Cook & Company Utilization Review Services reviews treatment plans for injured workers in compliance with 452 CMR 6:00 et seq. using Massachusetts Health Care Service Board endorsed Treatment Guidelines and other nationally approved workers’ compensation treatment guidelines to insure that appropriate and medically necessary treatments are authorized for the injured worker.
At Cook & Company we:
Ensure that the treatment(s) requested by providers fall within the accepted guidelines set by the Department of Industrial Accidents Health Care Services Board.
Give an adverse determination where treatment falls outside of established treatment guidelines.
The physicians, multi-disciplinary consultants and nurse reviewers that comprise the medical review team at the Cook & Company Utilization Review program strictly adhere to accepted treatment guidelines and nationally approved treatment protocols.
